J. Michael Farrell is the Washington, D.C. Representative for Western States International on energy, international trade, environment, corporate, legislative and administrative law since the inception of the company.
Michael Farrell is the appointed legal advisor to the Russian – American Business Counsel. He was designated by President George Bush as Chairman of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science in 1992. He was a member of the Commission since 1990. At the time of his appointment Mr. Farrell was a partner in the Law firm of Manatt, Phelps, Phillips, & Kantor. He was appointed by President George Bush as Commissioner of the United States of America on the Commission for the Study of Alternatives to the Panama Canal (Governments Japan, Panama, and USA. He served as Chairman of the Commission in 1993. He was appointed as member of the National Petroleum Council.
Mr. Farrell served as General Council for Department of Energy. He was appointed by President Reagan as Deputy Director, Office of Presidential Personnel at the White House and Assistant Counsel, to the President. He was appointed by the president as Member of the Presidents Commission on compensation of Career Executives. He is a director of the US-Panama Business Counsel and the Air Force Academy Foundation. Mr. Farrell has been engaged in private law practice in Washington D.C. for 30 years.
